Welcome to dog training Melbourne North, my name is Steffanie Budiman and I am your friendly neighbourhood Bark Busters canine behaviourist and trainer. When I'm not hanging out with my canine companions, you'll find me out and about going into homes and working with my wonderful clients, and their humans.
Coming from a family of avid animal lovers, I grew up surrounded by them but most of all, dogs - from street dogs, mutts, pure-breds to show dogs alike. Hence, it was no surprise that my career would eventually involve working with dog behaviour training. Prior to joining the wonderful team at Bark Busters, I was already a free-lance dog trainer, but it was not until learning and executing the Bark Busters holistic and non-physical approach, that I fully experienced the ease and benefits of 'Speaking Dog' the Bark Busters way. While it is true that a 'dog is going be a dog' or a 'puppy is going to be a puppy', we strive in weeding out the unwanted behaviours that often comes with miscommunication between owner and dog. The greatest misconception many dog owners have is to assume their dogs communicate the way they do. While our wonderful fur companions do have the ability to learn the human language, they naturally rely heavily on body language, growling, barking and other sounds to relay their intent or feelings. By understanding their language, we avoid misinterpreting these signals which can then cause confusion.
