I can’t recommend Laura highly enough. We were referred to Laura by friends after we saw fantastic results with their dog, and our experience working with Laura has been excellent. Laura has taken the time to deeply understand the specific needs and concerns we had for our dogs, and tailored a training plan to help us address these. In a short time, Laura has given us the language and tools we need to communicate effectively with our dogs. As a result the dogs are calmer, much better behaved, less anxious and receptive. To be clear, training your dogs is a long-term commitment that involves regular work with the dogs (there’s no quick fix, and Laura made this clear to us in our first session), but the difference with the techniques and approach Laura teaches us is that it’s effective, not reliant on always having treats, doesn’t involve physical punishment, and focuses on your role as a leader to your dog, helping them feel relaxed, confident, and secure. What’s more, Laura is there every step of the way to help us practice and embed the techniques, checking in at each visit to help us (this is so different to previous trainers we’ve worked with who don’t follow up beyond the initial sessions). We’ve loved Laura’s creative approach to some of the personality ‘quirks’ of our dogs (we have a Staffie and a Boxer, so both very headstrong), and getting to see the great parts of their personalities come through as we’ve worked with them. My family and I cannot recommend Laura from Barkbusters enough to those having troubles with their dog. My family and I had the most difficult time finding a trainer for our furry family member until we found Laura. Despite being turned away by other 5-star trainers, Laura confidently took on the challenge and worked tirelessly with us until we saw the transformation we had been longing for in our rescue dog. The best thing about Laura is that she tailors her training specifically to your dog's unique personality and specific issues, ensuring remarkable results. We were blown away by her in-depth knowledge of dog training and her ability to give sound advice for any circumstance. Not only did she teach our dog good indoor and outdoor practices, lead control when walking and helped establish a healthy relationship between our dog and family, but she also gave us the tools to continue training, so we could continue to see success in the future. Laura's work ethic and passion for helping dogs truly reflect how much she cares for all of her clients. She always makes sure that our training sessions are never rushed and she doesn't leave until every single question has been answered. Even after our training sessions ended, she continued to follow up with us to see if there were any further improvements that could be made. Our relationship with our dog has improved drastically and we couldn't be more grateful. We have used Laura for our 2 girl Cocker Spaniels. After just the first appointment we saw some great changes in their demeanour and how we all interacted as a family. We have now had about 4 sessions and the girls are so much better behaved and obedient. When we have had any queries in between sessions Laura was always happy for us to phone her and sort any issues out. Lauras commitment and ability has certainly helped change us all for the better. Now I have the tools and understand what I’m doing the bond with my GSD has improved tenfold! Within 2 hours of Peter Adamow landing on my front step we had addressed, barging the door, how to treat guests, Jaspers obedience in not chasing anything unless I give the OK, waiting for me to enter a door before he runs through, staying outside when the door is opened until he is called, barking at people (neighbours will be happy) and people walking behind my fence. This was an amazing outcome while Peter was here showing us how to do it but the magical part was being able to continue well after Peter left and still getting the same great results…I’m astounded! I know it’s early days but I just can’t express how heart warming it is to have improved my relationship with my dog. The very best part is…For the very first time I was able to walk my 18 month old German Shepherd with ease…with ease, just such a joy!!
