Hi, my name is Catharina. As a qualified and experienced dog behaviourist, my passion is to help owners get the best from their dogs, whether they be young or old. My goal as a dog trainer is to teach you how to gain your dog’s focus, helping them become calmer and more relaxed. Communication is key to any good relationship, and dogs are no different. 

I service the entire Southwest region of Western Australia, including Bunbury, Australind, Busselton, Dunsborough and Margaret River.

As a 1-on-1 dog trainer, I will assist you in setting up a foundation based on respect, trust and communication. I will help you to ‘Speak Dog’ and coach you through the fundamentals of canine communication. This will give you a better understanding of your dog and his behaviour while also giving you the key to a positive training experience with fast results.

I run specialised at-home puppy training and management programs, including pre-puppy training to help you prepare before your pup comes home.

Training an adult dog does not have to be hard. Whether a new rescue dog, an older dog who is set in his ways or even an adolescent puppy testing the boundaries, training can be fun, engaging and, above all else, practical.

Knowing how to educate a dog does not come naturally to all dog owners. Some people struggle to control their dogs and can agonise over the dog training that best suits them and their dog.  Like people, dogs have their own personalities and traits, and no two dogs are the same; that is why Bark Busters dog trainers assess each dog and tailor a program to suit them and their environment.

The techniques used by Bark Busters dog trainers are astoundingly simple, effective and time efficient and are also designed to work in tandem with a dog’s natural instincts without using bribery or any harsh methods. Our training is positive and based on canine communication which will see most dogs turned around in two to three hours.

Issues like recall (coming when called), pulling on the lead, jumping and nuisance barking can all be addressed through our dog training programs. I also help many owners with more in-depth behavioural issues such as aggression (dog and human), separation anxiety and sibling rivalry. We also get great results with deaf and blind dogs.

I work with all breeds of dogs – Doberman, Dachshund, Golden Retriever, Corgi, Great Dane, Cavoodle, French Bulldog, Border Collie, Labradoodle, Jack Russell, Staffy, Maltese, Aussie Shepherd, Chihuahua, Spaniels, Terriers, German Shepherd, cross breeds and many others.
