Bark Busters Reviews and Customer Testimonials

29th April 2018 - Peter Adamow

Peter dealt with Pulling, Recall, Other

Peter was very informative and showed us what we needed to do with Zara based on her needs and issues. The most valuable part of the training was giving me confidence in how I treated/worked with my dog.

27th April 2018 - Head Office

Head Office dealt with Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Recall, Sibling rivalry, Other

Grace Parr..you are a life changer! Having tried various methods of dog training, I was struggling with a hyperactive pup who barked constantly, jumped up and suffered separation anxiety. She was also a very fussy eater. Walks were unpredictable, with Lucy's barking at other dogs making outings difficult. The front yard was off-limits, as Lucy made such a noise at the fence. I can honestly say that I now have a completely different dog. Lucy is obedient, quiet and relaxed. She is not barking excessively and is responding well to my commands and praise. Lucy is also eating the raw bones that the vet had previously recommended for her dental health. I have opened up the access to the front yard and she is not barking at passers by. I am really delighted with the change. While I am writing this, the dog next door is barking and Lucy is lying down ignoring her! Fantastic!! I am so happy that I made the decision to ask Grace to help with Lucy's training. She is professional, yet very friendly and caring. I would not hesitate in recommending Grace to others . The change in Lucy has been remarkable.Thank you so much Grace!

25th April 2018 - Todd Morris

Todd dealt with Barking, Chewing, Hyperactivity, Pulling, Sibling rivalry

We adopted our baby boy about 6 months ago and despite our attempts and training sessions before I found Bark Busters, his separation anxiety was getting worse every day! We met Philip in our unit and after a comprehensive explanation about training, methods and benefits, he started to instruct us how can we can train and support our pup. It was really helpful for me to see the setting from a dog's view not mine, and realise how things mean for my dog and which behaviours need correction. Methods and tricks Philip taught us were more helpful than any other way we have tried because it changed my perspective and convinced me to change my methods first in order to change my dog's behaviour. In less than one week, I'm noticing change!! I highly recommend Philip if you are in the Illawarra. Thanks heaps Philip for your help!

Thanks so much Baharan for your kind words. Milou is almost 1 year now and a super cute Beagle. He has a lovely nature which makes him love his humans and want them with him all the time. Which of course isn't possible when we have to go to work! His barking was an issue and of course his stress was not good for him. He chewed plants and personal items around the flat when left alone. With leadership from his very loving humans he can learn to be calm when left alone. It'll take time but he is already on the right track! His humans commented that he had never "come" when called before our lesson and that alone was amazing!

25th April 2018 - Emma Reeves

Emma dealt with Aggression, Barking, Chewing, Digging, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling

Quite happy with the training and practical information. D'Arcy is much more generally settled now. He's getting used to walking on the lead at heel.

Trainer note from Emma
D'Arcy, a 1 year old Maltese x Shih Tzu, really thought he owned the house & everyone in it; and if anyone tried to tell him what to do he would let them know who he thought was boss by jumping up and biting them! In our first session we worked on biting, jumping, barking, pulling on the lead, chewing on furniture & plants, and stealing items. We saw great improvements straight away. Keep up the great work guys. Looking forward to seeing you soon.

I was so surprised in such a short time my pups were taking notice of the commands. John is so helpful and very good to understand.

Head Office dealt with Puppy management

This was our initial session with Allan - before we took delivery of our puppy. As first time dog owners we were very nervous. Allan's assistance was invaluable and made us feel a lot more comfortable. He was happy to answer all our questions, no matter how silly or small they were. A couple of days after we received our puppy I rang Allan for some advice about Alfie's nipping. Although not scheduled to visit us yet, Allan came over and helped us put some strategies in place to manage this issue. Overall Allan's assistance has been just great and made getting a puppy a fantastic experience for the whole family.

23rd April 2018 - Glen & Maureen Guelfi

Glen & Maureen dealt with Aggression, Barking, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Recall

Glen Guelfi is amazing. Our dog Gypsy is a 3 1/2 year old German Shepherd rescue dog who was re-homed due to her aggression towards other dogs. Walking her was a nightmare and she started to bark and pull aggressively to not only dogs, but joggers, people walking etc. She would bark at loud noises including turning the aircon on (which is noisy). When not out walking, she had a lovely nature and that is why we didn't want to give up on her. Glen came to our house and within 2 hours I had a completely different dog. She did not jump up anymore, she did not barge through doors, she walked beside me and he showed me exactly how to control her when she started barking. We practiced with the aircon first and that is completely under control. I cannot rate Glen or Barkbusters high enough and it was definitely worth the money.

Todd dealt with Aggression, Barking, Jumping up, Sibling rivalry, Other

The session was very informative with simple but comprehensive messages ensuring education wasn't overwhelming. The session was also practical with personalised feedback and targeted to my dog's challenging behaviours so very helpful. I had all my questions answered so while I was exhausted by the end of the session, I felt equipped to move forward. While it is a substantial upfront cost, I found this session more beneficial than group training sessions as Philip could see Kai in his own environment and be quite specific with information and strategies to employ. Philip has a relaxed education style which helped instil self confidence.

Trainer note from Todd
Thanks for the positive feedback Sharon, my aim is to please! It is so much better to train both owner and dog at their home where the challenging behaviour is occurring. And of course with barking that's so important to lessen. Kai is a great dog and showed a willingness to listen to you. DIly practice and implementing my suggestions regarding housing plus of course leadership will see your boy more relaxed and quieter. Thanks for allowing Bark Busters to help you.

21st April 2018 - Emma Reeves

Emma dealt with Barking, Chewing, Hyperactivity, Jumping up, Pulling, Puppy management, Recall

Investing my time and money into Bark Busters with Emma has been the best thing for my dog Coco and I! I have a very anxious Shar Pei x with some bad behaviours and Emma has been a wonderful resource for us. I struggled daily with the power struggle between coco and I, walking, barking, approaching other dogs, jumping up at visitors, etc. There were times before I met Emma that I ‘gave up’ and accepted I had a ratbag of a dog! She is extremely approachable, non judgemental and realistic about timeframes etc. Emma is also very flexible with fitting Coco and I in, which I value. I have found that not only has Coco’s behaviours improved in a short period of time and minimal visits, but my own confidence towards her behaviours with Emma’s encouragement. Thank you so much Emma.

- C.T, Falcon, Western Australia (Testimonial)

Trainer note from Emma
Coco, a beautiful 14 month old Shar Pei x Staffy, had really tested her mum with some of her behaviours, including: Jumping, barking, mouthing, pulling on the lead, not listening to commands, dog reactivity, chewing on furniture, and the list went on. As soon as her mum learnt how to speak dog, we saw huge changes, and with our support guarantee we are there to help when needed.

Tiberius (great name!) is a 13 week male Cavoodle puppy who needed guidance with toilet training and not nipping. Our 1 on 1 puppy lesson passed so many tips and training ideas to his human. He super cuddly! 🐶😀

Todd dealt with Aggression, Barking, Pulling, Recall, Separation anxiety, Sibling rivalry

Philip the trainer was amazing. We first went through he theory of why dogs behave and triggers to look for. He went through every detail of our dog and started the session off very simple and controlled. He confirmed certain things I was doing well and also things I was doing wrong. He was very thorough, he even included tips on certain foods which are best for my dog. My dog made huge progressions in the first lesson and we were left with a strict schedule to follow for the next few weeks. Philip was also strict with myself and my partner, which was really good, as it made us correct little small things we were doing wrong. Highly recommend.

Trainer note from Todd
Hey Michael & Shannon thanks for your kind words! It was great helping with your person and dog reactive (aggressive) 1.5 year old Kelpie female Peachey (named after a sportsperson not the fruit haha!) Peachey is super cute, and super soft natured. So she tends to panic about new people and dogs and that causes her aggressive behaviour. With more leadership from her human parents and clear corrections when she misbehaves, plus lovely praise when she responds well, she can learn to trust you both more and feel safer. Well done so far and keep up your 15-20 minutes daily training to ensure long term improvements and success. 👍😀🐶
