Glen & Maureen Guelfi

Hi, we are your local dog training experts, Glen and Maureen Guelfi, who have been with Bark Busters for the past 14 years. Glen started first as a full-time trainer and was joined by Maureen many years later. In this time, we have seen a lot of problems with dogs that can be solved simply by communicating in a way that your dog understands. So, we coin the phrase SPEAKING DOG.

Your dog will respond well because it understands what you are trying to say and do.

Glen - I found my love for animals growing up in an animal lovers house. I always had many around me.

We had at one stage 3 dogs, an Afghan, Doberman cross and very cute little Pug. Amongst all this we also we had 16 cats at one time, so I learnt at a young age to appreciate dogs and cats. I didn’t get my first dog until I was older and had a family of my own.

We adopted a little blue heeler named Jackson. He soon became the most important thing to me. My wife said I loved the dog more than her (not true of course but still).

My father was a Bark Busters’ trainer for many years and I loved the system and how quickly it transformed dogs, using no harsh methods. My dad thought I would do well in the Bark Busters business as he knew I had a great love for dogs.

When an area became available, I naturally jumped at it with both hands. That was over 14 years ago, and I’m still loving what I do, helping clients with their dogs is so rewarding. I never tire of hearing people say “That’s amazing!”.  I never want to do anything else.

I joined the Bark Busters family a few years ago. Glen and I often sit around and talk about the dogs we see on a daily basis and how amazing some of the cases are. Some of our clients have been everywhere seeking answers and they are so happy to have finally found us. We often are amazed ourselves at how quickly some dogs can be turned around. We literally see them transform before the owner’s eyes, using the very friendly, no fear, no pain Bark Busters approach.

Our aim is to save as many dogs as possible, to look to help dogs and humans bond in a way that is natural and stress free.

We deal with all types of behavioural and obedience issues, such as separation anxiety, barking, biting, aggression, sibling rivalry, coming when called, pulling on the lead, over exuberance, dog and stranger aggression, puppy management, general obedience and so much more.

We work with any breed and any age of dog - puppies to older dogs, plus blind and deaf dogs.
