There are few things in life no more rewarding than the bond of a devoted owner and a loyal dog. But perfect relationships aren’t magic, they are built from an understanding and an ability to communicate.
I have been drawn to dogs as far as memory serves me and growing up our household was never without a dog or two. Some of them we found, some of them found us but all were loved companions. I was introduced to the Bark Busters methods of training way back around 1996 by reading a newspaper story explaining a new dog training method which was kind to the dog and got results for every type of behavioural issue you could think of. This humane method sat well with me and I began to train my own dogs the Bark Busters way. Every dog I have owned has been an absolute joy and Bark Busters methods were my go to whenever I couldn’t solve a problem.
Fast forward to the present and searching for a new career it is what has been right under my nose all along, this is where I should have been looking. I am proud to have joined the Bark Busters team and look forward to helping you achieve that relationship with your dog you have wished for.
No problem is too big or too small. Our lifetime support guarantee ensures you will always have a personal trainer on call to help you anytime.
So give me a call, and lets have a chat and see how our wonderful system can help you and your dog.
Meet Michelle Reay, the area I cover is Toowoomba!
It’s a great feeling to have a rewarding relationship with your dog!
Hi I’m Michelle Reay your local Bark Buster Dog Behaviour Therapist for Toowoomba and the Darling Downs. I’d like to enable you to have the most rewarding relationship possible with your dog so that every day with them is a pleasure!
Too often our dog’s little issues get dismissed and overlooked, only to become big problems and before we know it our relationship with our dog is no longer a joy but more of a nightmare!
No one wants to be constantly yelling, frustrated or embarrassed by their dog’s undesirable behaviour.
Does your dog………
Bark at anything and everything?
Drag you down the street on the lead?
Jump all over your visitors?
Chew and destroy your belongings?
Refuse to come when called?
Lunge and bark aggressively on the lead?
I guarantee this was not the picture you had in mind, the day you bought your irresistible bundle home. So why is it that we put up with the most frustrating and antisocial behaviours from our dogs and change our lives to accommodate them when we simply do not have to?
I’d love to help you get the best out of your dog and restore harmony in your household for you, your family and your four legged friend.
Bark Busters takes a holistic approach to resolving your dog’s behavioural issues, using natural training methods to help you communicate clearly with them and form a relationship built on trust and respect. We are an internationally renowned dog training company, successfully training dogs in seven countries across the globe. Collectively, our trainers have trained over 1million dogs and changed the lives of countless families, previously struggling with their pets.
We work with you and your dog in the home environment, customising each session for your specific needs to get the best outcomes possible. After your initial session you’ll see major improvements in your dog’s behaviour. Consistent, effective communication is the key to a great relationship!
From an early age I have had an affinity for dogs and I have spent many years working with animals using natural training methods, getting a better understanding of their behaviour and how they learn. Canine behaviour and the connection they can form with people is truly fascinating. It is so rewarding to see dogs fully engage and connect with people through confident, clear communication and I would like to enable more owners to experience this bond and make a positive difference in their lives and the lives of their dogs.
I want to be able to share our training techniques with you and your canine companion to create a happier and more fulfilling relationship for you and your dog. Because a happier dog makes a happier household.
I have used the bark busters techniques to tame my previously unruly Siberian huskies where all other training (including obedience school) failed to teach me how to speak dog better.
These techniques worked for my whole family as my husband, and I grew and developed our family from living the couple life, to being a family unit consisting of mum, dad and two children.
I have also successfully applied these techniques to my 100% deaf dog “Lightning” along with socially adjusting an ex working dog into a fantastic family pet and proving that these techniques can work for ANY dog, ANY problem and at ANY age.
Professionally I joined Bark Busters in 2007 and have had so much satisfaction in turning Bark Busters into a household name in the Townsville region.
Since joining the Bark Busters team, I have had many achievements. During September (2009), Bark Busters Townsville was awarded Office of the Year. I was also a finalist for Therapist of the Year (2009) in addition to being awarded the Leader of the pack award for Australia (2009).
The training techniques, which are based on the way dogs communicate with each other, are simple and easy to use and results are visible in hours, not weeks – all without the use of harsh methods. Training is conducted in the home where most problem behaviour occurs, so the dog is relaxed and more receptive to learning “new tricks”.
I would love to assist you with your family also.
Meet Kelly McClelland, the areas I cover are Brisbane South West and Gold Coast!
I love my job! I have worked with animals my whole life, and get immense pleasure out of showing my clients how to communicate, control and develop a better relationship with their lovable canines. I have been training dogs for 25 years, and as well as being actively involved in dog sports, I enjoy showing my clients “outside the square” learning – the world doesn’t revolve around sit and stay! There is so much that can be done, one on one, at your first in house lesson, and we like to focus on what you want out of YOUR dog. Barking? Pulling on the lead? Aggression? Destruction?
All of this and more can be managed using the easy Bark Busters system of correction. The best part? No bum bags filled with treats, no nasty collars, and definitely nothing that creates fear – you want your dog to be working happily for you, not worrying about fear based training! Once we have managed all the in house issues, we then head out for a walk, go to the park or the beach, do controlled dog to dog work (my dogs LOVE coming to work!) or anything else as required.
Bark Busters also hold puppy schools, which are a 4 week series aimed at giving your new baby the best start in life. Obedience, toilet training, destruction, positive socialisation, and so much more….and for those that are too old for puppy school, why not try Bark Busters Group Training? Because we understand life is busy, you can come to any 4 weeks, and there is a high focus on dog to dog control, obedience, road safety, handler confidence and so much more.
I look forward to meeting you and your dog(s) soon!
Meet Michelle Howell, the area I cover is Brisbane North East!
G’day, my name is Michelle and I’m your local Bark Busters Dog Training expert. I service the Brisbane North East Area including Morayfield, Redcliffe, Northlakes, Wavell Heights, Samford and everything in between. But I also offer in-home dog training remotely! Either way, whether in person or on-line, I come to you in the comfort of your own home. Any dog, any age.
There are many reasons a dog owner might seek out a dog trainer. Barking, separation anxiety, jumping up, mouthing, toilet training, pulling on the lead, marking, and aggression are just a few of the problems owners have with their furry friends. While there is a myriad of information out there on training, it is confusing and often incorrect. The real issue though, comes from finding the time and energy to train a dog.
As a dog trainer, I have dedicated myself to teaching clients how to understand dog nature, such as body language, energy, and social skills, and how it applies to training your dog. My approach is about fostering respectful relationships between people and canines, so your dog learns from every interaction with you. It is all about reinforcing the human-animal bond to enrich the lives of owners, as much as their dogs. Setting both up for a lifetime of joy and success. A little training, a few minutes a day, done consistently and positively can bring out the best in your dog. More importantly, it can bring you both years of joy and happiness
Meet Faith Wild, the area I cover is Sunshine Coast!
I am the longest serving franchisee and have been a happy member of the Bark Busters family for 25 years. I am as much in love with my job now as I was all those years ago when I started out as an excited little pup!
After working in the animal rights movement and running a charity for 10 years, when the opportunity came up to work with dogs I jumped at it.
Dogs have been the love and light of my life since I can remember….from sitting in the gutter with all the stray dogs when I was 9, and feeding them ice creams and playing at the pied piper with all of them following me home. My mum was always yelling at me – where did you get all those dogs from? I would pretend to train them and walk them around on a string and ask them to sit and stay and run them over jumps….it was all I ever wanted to do. I wrote stories about them and dreamed about them and imagined a life full of dogs. I have to say, I had pretty good control back then too!
So Bark Busters was my chance and I have never looked back. Someone asked me the other day what gave me the most joy in life, and I told them it was when owners were beaming about how clever their dogs were after just one training session. It is just wonderful to see them connect with their dog and for the dog to look so happy!
The people I have met have made a profound impact on my life. I have formed close bonds and lasting friendships and their dogs have become a part of my family too. They all mean so much to me and of all the calls I have made in my life, that initial call to Bark Busters was the most life changing and best decision of my life.
