I've had dogs before and never ran into any significant problems. Still, I was really struggling with our new pup. This super energetic Border Collie Aussie Shepherd cross has a strong prey drive and can not be trusted off the lead. I didn't know what to do because I knew she needed the exercise. But whenever we went to the dog park, there was drama with her chasing down little dogs or jumping and snapping at children. I spent hours trawling through the internet, watching dog training videos and taking training classes with a local trainer. This helped a bit here and there, but I needed a personal plan specific to my dog. A colleague recommended Barkbusters, and I am forever grateful she did. Our training with Maureen made a massive difference. She came to our house and gave us in-depth advice and practical training drills that actually worked. Our dog is responding exceptionally well to the program. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but now I know what to do (and if I am unsure, I can always ask Maureen). It is a relief for me to have the right help and support.

Glen from Bark Busters was amazing. We had just about reached breaking point with our 6 month old Border Collie, Ollie. Glen had him walking without pulling, waiting whilst I entered a door first, coming when called, stopped his jumping up and biting all in the first visit. Wow, so relieved and very impressed.

Worth start by mentioning I got to Bark Busters through word-of-mouth as they were highly recommended by dog park friends. It had to be good, right? Wow! Service started remarkably well with lovely Sue who called me soon after I raised a request on their website and spent all time I needed explaining everything. Minutes later I had the first visit scheduled and was already excited to see Taco’s transformation. A couple of weeks later Glen rocks up at our door at the scheduled time. The bloke was just as lovely as Sue. He clearly knew what he was talking about, had been doing it for years and filled us with confidence we would achieve great results. Very much like you see on TV, it didn’t take 10 minutes for Taco to stop pulling on the lead and already start showing some immediate changes to his behaviour. That was amazing encouragement. A couple of hours later Glen left our place after leaving us with a number of things to do, a clear view of what makes the difference and a lot more confidence on how to build our relationship with our dog. And the best, all very achievable and realistic. While we have just started our journey we can already tell a massive difference to Taco’s behaviour! So yes, we’ll spent money and indeed the right thing to do for you and your dog!

Had a wonderful experience with Maureen who presents with love and passion for training. She has patience and shows excitement when working with our dog and our selves. Very genuine and kind towards our dog. She was able to keep the emotional and professional separate from her training but gave heaps of love and praises when required. Her knowledge base is very wide and she knows her stuff and presents well. I felt very satisfied and more relaxed about my understanding and learning. Considering I smothered my dog with kindness and it showed clearly he was the boss. Thanks to Maureen I am learning I'm the leader of this pack. I can’t recommend Laura highly enough. We were referred to Laura by friends after we saw fantastic results with their dog, and our experience working with Laura has been excellent. Laura has taken the time to deeply understand the specific needs and concerns we had for our dogs, and tailored a training plan to help us address these. In a short time, Laura has given us the language and tools we need to communicate effectively with our dogs. As a result the dogs are calmer, much better behaved, less anxious and receptive. To be clear, training your dogs is a long-term commitment that involves regular work with the dogs (there’s no quick fix, and Laura made this clear to us in our first session), but the difference with the techniques and approach Laura teaches us is that it’s effective, not reliant on always having treats, doesn’t involve physical punishment, and focuses on your role as a leader to your dog, helping them feel relaxed, confident, and secure. What’s more, Laura is there every step of the way to help us practice and embed the techniques, checking in at each visit to help us (this is so different to previous trainers we’ve worked with who don’t follow up beyond the initial sessions). We’ve loved Laura’s creative approach to some of the personality ‘quirks’ of our dogs (we have a Staffie and a Boxer, so both very headstrong), and getting to see the great parts of their personalities come through as we’ve worked with them. My family and I cannot recommend Laura from Barkbusters enough to those having troubles with their dog. My family and I had the most difficult time finding a trainer for our furry family member until we found Laura. Despite being turned away by other 5-star trainers, Laura confidently took on the challenge and worked tirelessly with us until we saw the transformation we had been longing for in our rescue dog. The best thing about Laura is that she tailors her training specifically to your dog's unique personality and specific issues, ensuring remarkable results. We were blown away by her in-depth knowledge of dog training and her ability to give sound advice for any circumstance. Not only did she teach our dog good indoor and outdoor practices, lead control when walking and helped establish a healthy relationship between our dog and family, but she also gave us the tools to continue training, so we could continue to see success in the future. Laura's work ethic and passion for helping dogs truly reflect how much she cares for all of her clients. She always makes sure that our training sessions are never rushed and she doesn't leave until every single question has been answered. Even after our training sessions ended, she continued to follow up with us to see if there were any further improvements that could be made. We have used Laura for our 2 girl Cocker Spaniels. After just the first appointment we saw some great changes in their demeanour and how we all interacted as a family. We have now had about 4 sessions and the girls are so much better behaved and obedient. When we have had any queries in between sessions Laura was always happy for us to phone her and sort any issues out. Lauras commitment and ability has certainly helped change us all for the better.
